A Flight Operations Officer or Flight Dispatcher plays an essential role in assisting the pilot in the preparation of flight plans, ensuring that the airline operates safely, regularly, and economically. The FOO/FD License is highly sought after by airlines and charter companies for this purpose.

COURSE DETAILS

Course Objective

The primary objective of the FOO/FD course is to train students according to the professional standards required by airlines and exceed the statutory requirements set by the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). The course develops students' proficiency to effectively and efficiently manage flight operations, ensuring safe, regular, and economical flight operations.

Eligibility for FOO/FD License

To enroll in the Flight Operations Officer/Flight Dispatcher course, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Age: Minimum of 18 years
Educational Qualification: Matriculation with Science
Intermediate with Physics/Mathematics

No Objection Certificate (NOC)

Serving personnel from the Armed Forces and Government Departments must provide a NOC from their organization.

English Language Proficiency

Applicants must be capable of speaking, reading, writing, and understanding the English language.

General Requirements for FOO/FD License from CAA Pakistan

To obtain a FOO/FD License, the applicant must: 1. Meet all eligibility criteria. 2. Complete an approved FOO/FD Ground Theoretical Course. 3. Pass the FOO/FD Theoretical Examinations. 4. Undergo a minimum of 90 days of on-the-job training at an approved Flight Dispatch Center. 5. Pass the CAA Oral/Skill Test.

Privileges of FOO/FD License

Once licensed, a Flight Operations Officer is authorized to:     •   Assist the Pilot-in-Command in preparing flight plans and provide relevant information for flight safety.     •   Prepare Operational and ATS Flight Plans, sign them when necessary, and file the ATS Flight Plan with the appropriate ATS facility.     •   Provide the Pilot-in-Command with critical in-flight information for the safe conduct of the flight.     •   Initiate emergency procedures as outlined in the airline’s Operations Manual.
